Once-in-a-decade Eclipse This April and two meteor showers

On April 20, 2023, a hybrid solar eclipse which only occurs once every decade. A hybrid solar eclipse comprises all three types of solar eclipses and incorporates all three regions of the Moons shadow: the umbra, penumbra, and antumbra. The hybrid eclipse happens when Earth passes through the region where the Moons’ antumbra, a half-shadow that starts where the umbra stops, and its umbra, the darkest part of the moon’s shadow, meet.

An annular solar eclipse takes place when the moon is farther away from Earth and only partially obscures the sun, while a total solar eclipse occurs when the moon totally eclipses the sun’s face. As the name implies, a hybrid solar eclipse combines the two. According to NASA, a hybrid eclipse changes from an annular to a total eclipse as the moon crosses the sun on Earth’s curved surface. This month’s spectacle, which only happens a few times every century, will be visible in far-off regions of the Southern Hemisphere, mostly at sea.

Around April 15-23, the Puppida meteor showers will become more visible each night. The shower will be more active from dusk until around 9:53 p.m. When the radiant point sets below the Western horizon.

On April 23, you will see the Lyrid Meteor Shower, an annual when the Hercules constellation is at its peak. During the event, about 20 meteors will break over the night

With proper preparation and respect for the ruins, a journey to uncover the mysteries of Belize’s ancient ruins is an experience unlike any other.

Motorcycle Safety Tips You Need to Know

Motorcycle accidents have a staggering 80% injury or death rate, compared to 20% for cars. And the chances of fatality in a motorcycle accident are 30 times higher than in a car accident.

Yes, riding a motorcycle with the wind blowing through your hair is so much more fun than riding in a box-like car, but there’s a lot more you need to do when riding a motorcycle to stay safe on the roads. It’s not just about motorcycle safety gear, but also about your riding habits.

Keep reading to find out more about motorcycle safety in the article below.

1. Don’t Ride a Bike That’s Bigger Than Your Comfort Level

There’s no need to pretend that you are cooler than you actually are. If you are riding with a group of people who have bigger bikes than you, don’t upgrade yourself if you aren’t comfortable riding a big bike. It’s just going to make you look foolish when you get into an accident or aren’t able to control the big bike as well as you would like.

Always ride the bike around in a parking lot or somewhere without too many cars to gauge how comfortable you feel with it. Only once you feel solid on it should you move onto the main roads and highways.

2. Don’t Take Passengers if You Aren’t Comfortable

Two can be a crowd if you aren’t comfortable having a passenger on your motorcycle yet. Having someone else on the back of your motorcycle will require you to balance and drive in a very different fashion, and that needs practice.

If you aren’t comfortable yet, don’t go on a long ride on a main highway with a passenger, putting their life and yours in danger.

Also, all passengers that ride with you must have their safety gear on as much as you do. That means a DOT-approved helmet is a must, no matter how much they complain that it ruins their hair or doesn’t look fashionable.

And if possible, have them in a motorcycle jacket, proper riding pants, gloves, and goggles (if the helmet is open-faced). Also, they should be wearing the proper shoes for riding, not Converse sneakers or high heels.

3. Don’t Go Without Motorcycle Safety Gear

It’s so easy to think to yourself, “I’m just going to ride down the road; I can just ride in my sandals, and shorts, and go without a helmet.”

But that’s typically when accidents occur – when you aren’t prepared for them.

Always wear a helmet no matter how far you have to ride, and do not drive without proper safety gear (jacket, pants, shoes, gloves, and goggles).

Too many motorcycle drivers have discovered just how much it hurts to be in an accident while wearing shorts. Even jeans don’t give enough protection from all the scrapes and bruises that occur in a motorcycle accident.

All passengers, even if they are children, need to be wearing helmets and safety gear as well.

4. Don’t Ride in Bad Weather Conditions

Always check the weather forecast before you go out riding. It’s dangerous enough for cars to be driving around in heavy snow or rain conditions, but with a motorcycle, that danger is magnified.

The roads can become quite slippery during a rain or snowstorm. If possible, you should avoid riding in such weather.

Not only is that but visibility greatly reduced for a motorcycle rider in such weather conditions. You won’t be able to see properly when raindrops are pelting your helmet at 30 or 50 miles per hour.

Can’t avoid it? Then make sure you drive slowly, wear your safety gear, and stay alert.

If the rain or snow gets heavier and your visibility reduces to zero, pull to the side of the road as safely as you can or move off the highway onto the smaller roads. Safety comes first.

5. Don’t Weave in and Out of Traffic

When you are riding a motorcycle, you will be enamored with the freedom it affords you. No longer are you encumbered by the bulkiness of an automobile.

If you have seen videos of folks riding motorcycles in Asian countries, you might have seen them weaving in and out of traffic, riding on sidewalks, and squeezing in between cars to get ahead.

What they don’t show you is that the fatality and accident rates for motorcycle drivers in these countries are also very high!

Don’t risk your life unnecessarily. Just because you are riding a motorcycle, this doesn’t mean that the traffic rules don’t apply to you.

Make sure you stay in your lane, don’t overtake cars without ample space, and keep your distance from the heavy trucks and Lorries.

6. Don’t Forget to Check Your Blind Spots

Even a tiny vehicle like a motorcycle has a blind spot, albeit small. So you will want to use your head, that is, turn your head to check your blind spot before moving into another lane or turning into a side road.

Watch out for pedestrians, especially at night, who might not be expecting a motorcycle and step onto the road right in front of you.

Also, watch the road closely when you are riding. Small things like gravel on the road or a small obstruction might not affect a car as much. The car might pass over it without any notice.

But for a motorcycle, these little things can turn out to be quite dangerous. Gravel on the road will destabilize your bike and could result in sliding or skidding.

Make sure you keep an eye on the road, as much as you keep an eye on all the vehicles around you. Remember that most American drivers aren’t used to having motorcycles on the road, so they won’t pay as much attention to you as they would other vehicles.

If you are in their blind spot, they might not see you and drive into you without realizing it. This would result in a minor accident for them, but a major one for you, since a motorcycle is so much more unstable than a car.

It’s your prerogative to stay as alert as possible because you are the most vulnerable one here.

7. Don’t Drink and Drive (or Do Drugs and Drive)

This point is a given, and it applies to all drivers, not just motorcycle riders. But as you might imagine, riding a motorcycle requires an intense level of concentration and alertness.

And if you drink or do drugs before riding, not only is it illegal to do so, but it will deteriorate your motorcycle riding skills a lot, making it more likely you get into a fatal or injury-inducing accident.

Even if its small distances, do not do it!  If you get caught with alcohol in your system or drugs when riding a motorcycle and/or get into an accident, you will want to get motorcycle accident legal representation asap. You don’t want to lose your license or worse go to jail, because of this infraction. It could ruin the rest of your life, if not properly handled.

8. Don’t Ride Too Close to the Vehicle in Front

If you don’t have anti-lock brakes, then you will want to give even more space to the vehicles in front of you. Don’t skimp on this though and upgrade to anti-locking brakes if possible.

This could help reduce the chances of you getting into a fatal or injury-causing accident. It will also keep you safe when road conditions are less than ideal, like during a snow or rain storm.

Sometimes you have to stop suddenly. But if you leave enough space between you and the other vehicles and watch the traffic conditions around you like a hawk, then you should be safe from any unpleasant accidents or related incidents.

Motorcycle Safety Starts With the Basics

Once you have motorcycle safety gear on, you are 50% there. Following the other tips laid out above will ensure you stay safe while riding your motorcycle around on the busy streets or highways of America.

No matter how long you have been riding a motorcycle, you will want to stay safe on the road by following all motorcycle safety laws. Don’t get complacent, because that’s when tragedy usually strikes.

Residents of Belize City and those traveling to the city on the Philip Goldson Highway were delighted to arrive at the Flag Monument Roundabout during recent evenings to see a lovely and enlivening display of lights gracing the formerly dull and uninviting cement Overpass. They were curious about what was going on and how long the delight of a brilliant nightlight would remain.

Factors To Consider in Choosing the Best Cryptocurrency to Invest in 2023

You’ve heard the hype about cryptocurrencies, but you’re not sure where to get started. You’ve read a few articles online and spoken with friends who have also expressed interest in getting involved, but you still feel uncertain about which cryptocurrency is right for you.

Choosing the best cryptocurrency to invest in for 2023 is a daunting task. With so many exchanges, so many cryptocurrencies, and so many trading pairs such as VID USDT, how can one choose? It’s important to remember that you don’t need to trade every cryptocurrency on every exchange.

The first thing to understand is that choosing a cryptocurrency to invest in is not the same as choosing a stock. There are no fundamentals like earnings reports or financial ratios that can help you decide which one to buy.

Know the Team Behind the Project.

When you’re looking at a cryptocurrency, you want to make sure that the team behind it is trustworthy and consistent. You’ll want to know what their backgrounds are, and how active they have been with the project.

A great place to look for this information is on LinkedIn or Twitter; if there’s not an official Twitter account for a project, then try searching for hashtags related to that project or community members who are part of it.

Check Out the Roadmap

A clear, detailed and realistic roadmap is also a good sign. A blockchain project should be able to explain how they intend to achieve their goals in a clear and understandable way. They should also update the community on progress frequently.

A transparent roadmap is an ideal road sign for investors, especially those who may have little knowledge of blockchain technology or cryptocurrency investments.

Check out the Supply

When you’re trying to decide which cryptocurrency to invest in, it’s important to look at the supply. The supply of a cryptocurrency is the number of coins that will be available for mining or purchase.

Let’s say you are eyeing for Stellar XLM crypto. The supply of a cryptocurrency determines its XLM price, since it directly affects how much money there is available on the market. A high supply means that there are more coins and therefore less demand, while a low supply means there are fewer coins and therefore more demand.

Consider the Market Cap

Another factor you should consider when choosing a cryptocurrency to invest in is the market cap. The market cap is the total value of all coins in circulation multiplied by their price per coin. It’s a good indicator of how popular a coin is, and it can help you determine whether or not it’s worth investing in.

Investigate the Community

Go on the social media channels of your favorite cryptocurrency and see what the community is talking about. Check out their Telegram channel, their Reddit channel, their Discord channel and their Twitter account.

You can also check out the Facebook page or blog of any project you’re interested in investing in. You should see a lot of discussion about updates regarding developments on the project as well as speculation about future price movements of that particular coin/token

Don’t Ignore Marketing Efforts

Crypto projects often spend a lot of money on marketing, which is a good sign. It’s a sign that the project has some degree of success and it’s confident enough to spend millions on advertising campaigns.

The more money a project has, the more likely it is that its developers will deliver what they promise. That’s why you should look for cryptocurrency projects with strong marketing strategies before investing in them.

Don’t Forget Trends and Events.

The best cryptocurrency to invest in for 2023 is one that has a combination of the following characteristics:

  • A strong community.
  • A well-known team behind it.
  • Active development and use cases for the coin or token.
  • Good marketing efforts on social media and other channels.

The better you can understand a project’s goals, the easier it will be to decide whether or not it’s a good investment for you.

You should also invest in projects that have clear goals and objectives. If a project doesn’t have a specific goal, it’s harder to tell if they’re moving forward or not. You’ll want to understand why the project was created, who created it and what their background is. How long it has been around, what progress has been made so far, if there are any major milestones coming up soon (like an upcoming release of new features).

What challenges still need to be overcome before the project reaches its ultimate goal (if any), whether or not there are any other teams working on similar projects and how much funding has been raised so far through their pre-sale or ICO sale.

Investigate the community behind the cryptocurrency as well; this will help you understand why certain people might be interested in supporting this particular cryptocurrency over others while also helping you determine if there’s enough community support for your chosen coin at all! Make sure that someone else out there hasn’t already done your research for you; if they have then great but don’t stop here.

8 Tips for Buying the Perfect Large Camper

Over 11 million households in the U.S. now own an RV, so if you’re in the market for one, you’re in great company. However, buying a large camper like this is a huge investment; it isn’t a decision you should take lightly.

There are many factors to consider when you begin your hunt for the perfect RV or camper trailer for your lifestyle. Keep reading to find our eight tips for choosing the perfect one for your needs.

1. Know Your Towing Capacity

The last thing you want to do is buy an RV only to later find your vehicle can’t handle towing it. Most trucks or SUVs should be okay hauling an RV, but if you drive a car or crossover, you’ll need to consult your vehicle manual.

2. Do Your Research

Give yourself time to research before visiting a dealership to look at an RV or 5th wheel. The more you know in advance, the less likely it will be that a sleazy salesperson will be able to take advantage of you.

Learn about manufacturers and read reviews only. Reading reviews will provide insight into what real consumers like you think of their new camper. Then, narrow your list to two or three prospective manufacturers to make the shopping process more manageable.

3. Ensure It’s Serviced and Inspected

RVs can be lemons, just like cars. So before you drive your new camper trailer off the lot, make sure it’s had an inspection and been serviced. This is true even if you’re buying an RV from the factory. The worst place to find out about a leak or broken slide-out is when you’re trying to enjoy a vacation with your family.

4. Do a Walkthrough

After ensuring your RV has been serviced and inspected, insist on doing a walkthrough with your salesperson. Have them show you the ropes of how your new toy works. Ask them to show you how the slides work and how to hook up the power and water.

You should also get a primer on dumping the tanks.

While doing your walkthrough, you can keep your eyes open for any issues your inspector could have missed.

4. Concentrate on Floor Plans

While doing your preliminary research, focus on each model’s floor plan. Imagine yourself in the RV and ask yourself the following questions:

  • Is there a spot for everyone to sleep?
  • Is there room for everyone at the dinner table?
  • Is there enough privacy for you and your partner?
  • Is there room inside to do activities on rainy days?
  • Where will you store your necessities?

Asking yourself these questions will help you quickly navigate all available RVs to find the one perfect for your needs.

5. Consider Where You’ll Store a Large Camper

It can be tempting to buy the most expensive and biggest camper out there but don’t do so without thinking it through first. Do you have a place lined up where you can store your new toy? Your city might have a bylaw restricting where and how long you can park an RV on the street or in your alley.

RV storage can be pricy, so do your research to see what’s available in your city. We recommend finding a heated building if you can, as it will prevent your RVs water system from freezing in the winter.

6. Comb Through Your Warranty

Don’t buy a warranty from your dealer without looking at other options first. RV dealers will take a cut, meaning you might not get the best deal. It’s in the salesperson’s best interest to sell you that warranty whether it’s the right product for you or not.

You don’t need to decide on an extended warranty the same day you purchase your RV. If you’re buying a new camper, it will come with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty. After that first year, you can decide if you want that extra warranty.

However, if you wait to buy the extended warranty, it won’t be as good of a price for a one-year-old RV as a brand-new one.

Before you sign any papers, read your warranty from start to finish. Then, ask the salesperson to walk you through what is and isn’t covered until you fully understand your coverage.

7. Be Realistic About the RV Lifestyle

Many people buy an RV thinking they’ll take to the road every weekend in the summer to get the most out of their investment. While this is certainly possible for you, is it realistic with your current lifestyle?

Can you take that much time off of work? Do you want to drag the kids and pets around all summer, putting them out of their much-loved routine? Would you feel comfortable being away from home for that long?

If you’re buying an RV thinking you’ll spontaneously go camping, think again. You can’t just leave spur of the moment and expect to get a campsite in the middle of summer. RVing is a very popular pastime, and most campgrounds only have limited space for accommodating RVs, meaning they get booked up fast in advance.

After thinking it through, you might decide on a different RV size or style. This could ultimately save you money in the long run, so don’t be afraid to really do some soul-searching here.

8. Rent Before You Buy

You shouldn’t buy an RV if you’ve never been RVing before. It’s hard to know what you want in an RV if you’ve never used one. For that reason, we recommend taking a summer to go RVing in a rental before choosing one to buy.

Renting will help you determine the best size and style for your needs.

Hit the Open Road

We hope our guide to buying a large camper or RV has helped you in your decision-making process. Buying an RV is a considerable expense, and it’s not a decision one should take lightly. Please give yourself plenty of time to weigh your options before jumping into it.
