Salient Group LLP is seeking a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of Rack/Tank Operator for a premiere company in Belize City.
The Rack/Tank Operator is primarily responsible for implementing truck loading controls at the loading rack and discharging of trucks with product delivery based on a shift system. The incumbemt carries out facility pre-start up and end-of-day facility inspections, including daily product inventory gauging.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Pre-inspects trucks and controls/monitors truck loading activity.
- Performs daily pre-start up and end-of-day facility inspections.
- Maintains a clean rack work area.
- Provides maintenance services to the loading equipment and executes the company’s preventive maintenance program.
- Assists with calibration of flow meters and performs hydrostatic testing of piping.
- Participates in all scheduled training courses as well as in all contingency drills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Education:
- Minimum of a high school or vocational technical diploma is required. Completion of tertiary level education, or higher, is a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of industrial facility experience (preferably within the petroleum industry) is required.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook, in particular).
- Good working knowledge (reading/writing/speaking) of English is required. A working level of Spanish would be considered an asset.
- Must demonstrate the following:
- ability to work a shift schedule (including early mornings) in 12-hour shifts under adverse weather conditions, at times.
- good working knowledge in arithmetic.
- manual dexterity with the use of hand tools.
- capable of lifting and moving at least 20lbs in weight and be able to climb tanks and vessels without a fear of heights.
- team-player with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, be flexible, willing to go the extra mile, with the ability to work well under pressure.
- committed to establishing a long-term career, be able to work with minimal supervision, be attentive and dedicated.
- cost conscious and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
